9 teams from the BIG made the dance, right? 2 left that still have to play. What a joke. I get so much of it is luck of the draw, etc... but it is stylistic. No defense from Iowa, no athletes... just Garza. IMO Seton Hall and X have a right to question not getting in.

I remember Nova was picked to finish 1st in preseason but finished the conference play losing like 5 in a row. It's the George Mason loss that many of us would rather forget about.

But I never looked at that as an embarrassing performance by the conference. We sent so many teams to the tournament that there were multiple BE vs BE matchups in the round of 32...

Man if only Gonzaga were a thousand or two miles East.

The key thing about the 2011 Big East is we actually dominated in non-conference.

- UConn finished 9th at 9-9, but had won the Maui with wins over #2 Michigan State and #9 Kentucky and Tennessee.
- Georgetown 11-1, beat #9 Missouri, NC State and #16 Memphis.
- Pitt was 10-1, beat Maryland and Texas.
- Villanova 12-1, beat UCLA, Maryland and Temple.
- Syracuse 13-0, beat Michigan, Michigan State and Georgia Tech.
- Notre Dame 12-1, beat Georgia, Cal, and Gonzaga.
- PC was horrible, but we were 11-2 and beat Alabama.

etc...

meanwhile...

the 2021 Big Ten... uh...
- Purdue beat 11-15 Notre Dame, Liberty and Indiana State, got a 4-seed.
- Iowa beat UNC, and 2-22 Iowa State, and was gifted a 2-seed.
- Illinois beat 13-11 Duke, lost to Mizzou and Baylor--> 2-seed.
- Ohio State beat Notre Dame, and UCLA at home--> 2-seed.

I realize the non-conference was cut short. But that's all the more reason why it was insane to overhype these clowns once again.

We gotta figure out a way to move the stupid gavitt games to later in the season. Big Ten teams are typically high floor/low ceiling rosters built to feast on teams still working on stuff in November.

I’d like it if they were just in a different bracket region.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

ESPN ranks Nova 6th and Creighton 16th of the remaining teams in the tournament. I hope Creighton's fired up.

1a. Zags
1b. Baylor
3. Everybody else

The grim reality is that in a year where everything in this tourney is wide open there are 2 sure things IMO. I think we are staring at 2 teams making a methodical march towards an epic showdown. I think both Nova and Creighton are in trouble, as are anyone else in these 2 teams paths. I really hope I'm wrong.

I hear ya Gumby. I don't know if Gonzaga has 5 pros like our 2018 team, but they are loaded and their progression through the field seems to be inevitable.... Baylor is stacked as well and has the perfect elements to give us fits. Super quick and deadly shooters from three and an athletic, very good front line...

I think it's fair to say Creighton is the worst team left in the field. But I think anyone can beat anyone in the field, too.
