If this happens, Big Nate has made a huge mistake. His stock is at it's peak to make some serious money playing pro ball. It seems like the risk of injury in the trenches of the BEast is quite the gamble.....what in the world is he trying to prove?

Well, there's no "if." It's happening. And, I mean, unless it's a career-ending injury, which every single player from age 5 to age 50 is risking when they step on the court, he's not hurting or helping any chance to make money overseas. China and Australia and Lithuania and Turkey can all wait one more year. I'm also assuming Nate will probably come out of this with some sort of masters degree. Also the covid effect cannot go unmentioned. He loves Providence. He loves The Dunk. He doesn't want his career at Providence to end the way it did, especially playing at Alumni, and not having Big June (Papa Watson) behind the bench every game.

That's surprising and has me wondering about Gillespie, Samuels, and DCR.

Agreed.. will be interesting to see how it all shakes out---hopefully it is a while before we hear---means we won a few games!

My HOPE is Gillespie does return---clearly he could be huge for us and would be a fantastic mentor to Brizzi (and possibly even Keels). Samuels---gut says he doesn't. He can probably play abroad, but who knows. DCR is another story. I thought I heard Jay say that DCR's injuries are such that he may never play again which is too bad. He would have been huge for us off the bench this year, but alas.

Gillespie tore his MCL, correct (not ACL)? Has there been word on the grade tear? Did it require surgery? If non surgical MCL tear, he ought to be full speed by start of next season if he decides to come back, shouldn't he?

Doubt Xavier is involved here.

Yeah, it was unexpected. He only got significant minutes in the last three games of the season this year, when I feel like his minutes should have ramped up sooner, but next year he projected to play a lot more. However, he would have likely been coming off the bench as a sophomore and I'm guessing he didn't like that.

PC forward Jimmy Nichols is entering the transfer portal. Roster overhaul underway in Providence. At the end of the season Ed said there would be changes made to the roster and he wasn't kidding. Third transfer for the Friars.
