He spent the first 30 minutes or so in Greg Gantt’s pocket.

Yeah, the games were fantastic. I remember thinking before the X-Marq game finished that it was a crazy game, regardless of how it might turn out, and that followed an overtime game that ended with a one-possession win. Then another one-possession overtime win right after that! Damn, what a day.

I thought the same thing. Either way, it was a hell of a game to watch.

It's common - and a perceived right - for fans to pick apart this or that in terms of how their team played on offense or defense or both once the game is in the books. And it is basketball - action occurring in real time that involves split second activity at key points during the game (e.g. Marquette fans citing the moving pick by Freemantle at the end of the game). Perhaps - no, forget that - both teams do need to improve their D as the season moves on.

Yet the execution on offense by both teams both in terms of outside shooting and play down low was rather crisp for being this early in the season. Theo John was down right impressive on offense - hadn't seen that from him ever. Paul Scruggs has simply come into his own, both in terms of play and his leadership. Even the announcers kind of raved about the execution in the game from both teams.

It was a Hollywood-scripted ending. It happens. It happened to us last year against Butler at home.

Overall, I can't imagine the Fox TV executives and the BE front office being anything less than ecstatic with the product that was put on the tube all day yesterday. And so we battle on.

Just couldn't hit for about the first 35 minutes. One of those days - got to the hoop with ease, created countless wide open shots for himself, but damn near everything rimmed out.

Anyway, 2 OT games and a buzzer beater so far today, let's see what SJU and Grown has for us.

I didn't think Duke traveled at the end and no one on TV mentioned it. Did this sentiment start just because a Hall homer newspaper guy whined about it?

There was a whole lot more than 1 guy calling it out. As for Jerry - he's pretty objective. For a "Hall homer," the dudes been raving about Rutgers all year. Regardless, Cale put it best in the postgame presser - yeah, they thought it was a travel but that isn't why they lost and they're not about to blame the refs. They lost because they played poorly.

One of my main takeaways is Seton Hall is huge all over the court. PC is the one team that also has size all around . Both teams are tough, PC might be a bit nasty as well. Speaking of nasty, Nate Watson (36th best BE player by the experts) is in great shape after being injured last year and is dominant so far.

I have a hard time imagining the Hall losing more than a handful of times this year in conference. I know top to bottom the BE is tough but I can assure you if the refs allow it your team will know they have been in a major rockfight after playing either PC or SHU. Old school BE teams. Donny Marshall must have mentioned it multiple times calling the game.
