From Philly.com (Inquirer). There have been a bunch of injuries--Gillespie-- hamstring (back now) and Moore wasa little banged up too (back now). There also was a Covid case early on (staff I believe). So, practice has only been going on in earnest recently..

Wright said Antoine’s injury “really concerns me.”

“I can’t say right now what it is, but he’s been out,” he said Thursday in a Zoom conference call with reporters. “He was doing a good job in September, looking good, but then hurt his shoulder again. He’s been out probably since the 23rd of September and it doesn’t look like he’s going to get back real quick here. He’s keeping a great attitude, but that’s the one that concerns me.”

The 6-foot-5 Antoine was one of the nation’s best high school guards when he signed with the Wildcats, but a sore shoulder that bothered him throughout his senior season at the Ranney School in Tinton Falls, N.J., turned out to be a torn labrum that required surgery.

Antoine spent five months rehabilitating the shoulder and there was talk he might redshirt, but he was able to return to action Nov. 21 at the Myrtle Beach Invitational. Still, he was behind in his development and played sparingly.

Yeah as earlier stated it’s hard to slot Frosh (and transfers). We’ve had 3 McD’s AA in the past 3 yrs and only one made a meaningful impact in year 1. So maybe that affected me a bit too much. Re: Wahab, I’m in. Love his upside; will be a monster...eventually. Re: Nze. I’m a huge fan. He just makes winning plays. Gets a lot of key rebounds, timely scoring, defensive stops. He personifies the Butler Way. And put me in the camp that Butler will find a way yet again this year.

Xup, your list and mine aren’t that far off. Both think Free will have a big year. I still think Samuels will be our 5th option this year but like Nze he makes a lot of little plays that have high impact on the game. Re: Bynum, I worry about his size. He’s not a burner but a solid classic PG, but he’s not big (if I recall from when we saw him at T Joe’s). You may be sleeping on Rhodes. Kid has the tools to be a really nice player. And my hot take...SHU is closer to Nova and Creighton than to the rest of the field by season’s end.

To be fair Nova's system is much more senior reliant than Wojo's give it to the hot hand and have everyone else stand on the wings system. Our last McD AA was Henry Ellanson and that worked out pretty well.

Bey has been the best available on my board for a while, so if you can get him way down here, you have to feel good about it. Bey is one of the most NBA-ready players in this draft and could step in and be a good player right away. I like this pick more than the other two Pistons picks. Grade: A+

58. Philadelphia 76ers (via LAL): PF Paul Reed, DePaul

Daryl Morey does it again, selecting an analytics darling who somehow slipped to No. 58. Reed averaged a double-double last season but profiles as an all-around defensive weapon with great size and untapped scoring potential. Grade: A-

If Robinson-Earl takes the so-called next step, Jay Wright could become just the seventh coach in history to win three national titles at the Division I level in men's basketball. -- GP

James Bouknight, UConn - Bouknight lived up to his top-100 prospect billing as a freshman last season while transitioning into a starting role and averaging 15.8 points per game once inserted into the starting lineup. He'll be up against stiffer competition in the Big East this season but has all the makings of a star. – DC

66. Mitch Ballock, Creighton - The Bluejays will need Ballock's 3-point shooting to remain excellent. The senior averaged 11.9 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.1 apg, but it was his 43.6% 3-point accuracy that helped the Jays clock in a 118.2 offensive rating at KenPom last season, No. 3 in the sport behind Gonzaga and Dayton. – MN

70. Denzel Mahoney, Creighton - The closest margins between any teammates on this year's list is with Mahoney (12.ppg, 3.1 rpg) and Ballock just four spots above. Bluejays coach Greg McDermott tells me there's basically no wiggle room between the two for CU's second-best player honor. -- MN

72. Justin Moore, Villanova - The Big East all-freshman honoree is poised for a full-time starting role in the Wildcats' backcourt after shooting 39.6% from 3-point range last season. – DC

100. R.J. Cole, UConn - The Huskies have a star on its hands in James Bouknight, but don't you dare overlook the underrated transfer addition of Cole. A Howard transfer, he averaged 22.5 points per game in two seasons for the Bison before moving on. He has an opportunity to step into a co-starring role next to Bouknight with senior Christian Vital exhausting his eligibility. -- KB
