If Mcewan ends up as the 18th best or higher I'll take the amount of malort shots that equal what place MU finishes in.

Also I think Garcia actually ends up higher than that.

Hey Gumby,
The top 10 has been close to a consensus, until you got silly dragging Nze in at #9. Your own Samuels and especially Big Nate beg to differ. Mitch Ballock is not getting much love AND you (and most everybody) are not feeling Wahab...gonna be an absolute hammer.

If you're going to to include freshman, Garcia has to be sloted WAY higher and Odom should easily be included.

Also, I see that you're not at all on the Bynum train....most are. He looks promising for PC at the point and you have Horshler off the list altogether.

BTW....Molson In (Molson?) but Ben Stanley out? Woefully misinformed. Ben gonna open up a can of wup-ass in a town near you.
:o

Surprised Moore and Samuels didn't make your top 10? Garcia's way better'n 40 something.

good effort.

Agree on Garcia. I could see him or Carton leading Marquette in scoring.

Yeah as earlier stated it’s hard to slot Frosh (and transfers). We’ve had 3 McD’s AA in the past 3 yrs and only one made a meaningful impact in year 1. So maybe that affected me a bit too much. Re: Wahab, I’m in. Love his upside; will be a monster...eventually. Re: Nze. I’m a huge fan. He just makes winning plays. Gets a lot of key rebounds, timely scoring, defensive stops. He personifies the Butler Way. And put me in the camp that Butler will find a way yet again this year.

Xup, your list and mine aren’t that far off. Both think Free will have a big year. I still think Samuels will be our 5th option this year but like Nze he makes a lot of little plays that have high impact on the game. Re: Bynum, I worry about his size. He’s not a burner but a solid classic PG, but he’s not big (if I recall from when we saw him at T Joe’s). You may be sleeping on Rhodes. Kid has the tools to be a really nice player. And my hot take...SHU is closer to Nova and Creighton than to the rest of the field by season’s end.

Yeah Gumby, your take on the Nova roster is wack-o. Slotting Samuels at 23 is borderline criminal. Especially when considering some of the guys in front of him. I'd like to hear more about this notion of him being a 5th option. A Senior Samuel could end up as 1 or 2 if he can channel the 29 he dropped on MU with any consistancy. You have Carton over a proven Moore? Really? Can't see it.

Also you get in the weeds a little in the bottom half. Totally understandable, but give me Swider or even Slater over most of those unprovens on your list. And where's Dixon?

BTW, thanks for making John and Butz angry.... Sheez...

I think Gumby’s list is good except for Christian Bishop at 37 and behind Ballock, Mahoney and Jefferson. I’d have him Top 10. But CB has always been underrated and as the above post mentiones, thanks for giving him more motivation.

Xup, option 1a, 1b & 1c will be Gillespie, Moore and JRE. I think Daniels will end up being Option 4. Which leaves Samuels at Option 5. I love the kid. But there is only 1 basketball and I think the other 4 are going to be more of the focus in the offense. Now defensively and in terms of team glue, I think Jermaine is probably our most important player.

There are so many factors that are tough to sort for lists like this. I got caught between "who is the better overall player" vs. "who will have the most significant impact for their teams." So some guys might not be better than other guys below them, but will have higher usage rates on their specific teams. So a guy like Denzell Mahoney or Jermaine Samules may be 3rd or 4th options on their own team, but if they were on G'town or DePaul would be a potential 1st or 2nd team players, and much higher on this list. A guy like Antoine is certainly not the 46th most talented guy in this league, but I put him there on this list in anticipation of lower usage, thus lower overall contribution to the success of the Nova team.

Django, Bishop is a nice player, no doubt. I did some hedging there, wondering if Epperson or the other new big from CU might eat into some of those minutes. I was really impressed by Denzell's production per minutes played. With higher usage he might explode this year. But you know the Jays better than I so I have no problem with your criticism.
