So Val couldn’t cancel the tournament until NYC told her to which was required for the Big East to collect on their insurance policy. I had not seen that published previously.
It was a good decision to have event cancellation, particularly given the importance of the tournament revenue to the league. But just as important has having the coverage is understanding the terms and following those terms so that the league could collect on the policy.

Dana O'Neil tweeted that Central Michigan's total expenses for track was $241,794. The school's football expenses were $3.8 million. And they cut track.
I wonder how long before the "non-power" football conf schools rethink football and the benefits vs. costs.
