Sucks if true. Tyshon isn't really on any draft boards. He's a fringe second round pick without workouts imo. Nevertheless, Tyshon's dad did respond to Goodman.

Tyshon finally speaks out and says he's in fact declaring. BUT returning to Omaha is still an option.

I'm less positive about him returning. Hopefully he can get drafted but I don't have high hopes...

I agree with your less than positive hope about returning.

You can cut the tension on Bluejay boards with a butter knife. The 9-9/10-8 club members are nervously sharpening their pencils, salivating to inscribe their classic predictions.

Fear not acolytes, fear not.

Our Jays have an overabundance of talent currently on this team.  We've come a long ways, baby!  DENZEL, Mitch, DJ, Z, and Chris will take up the slack.  Shereef and Jett are still here.  A healthy Jacob returns and AJ, Ryan, AOC, and Sami join the fray.  Plus we now have room for Kerwin, DJ Carton, and Batcho to come aboard.  All is well on the Hilltop.  Roll damn Jays!

A week ago (heck even yesterday) I would've told you "I'd be shocked if Tyshon left"

Now it's "I'd be shocked if Tyshon returned"

Forget it. He's gone. Thanks for everything Ty.

Next man up! You guys will score a LOT of points whether TSA is in the NBA or not. It's on the defensive side that this will really hurt. I thought the big difference between this year and others was the D. But you know what? Good programs can handle early defections and injuries. I expect the Jays to be able to do the same.

Antwann Jones (memphis transfer) from all reports will be an impact transfer (like Mahoney) so Im hopeful he can fill some of the void Ty-shon will leave behind. We lose a great defender in Ty-shon but hopefully Kalkbrenner and Epperson can erase some of that deficiency as rim protectors. We just have no depth now at the guard position.

With the departures of Jalen Windham and Davion Mintz, it looks as if there was no guard depth WITH Ty-Shon either.
The good thing is 3 open scholies to add depth...via frosh or transfers.

We will basically have the same guard depth next year that we did this year, right? Mintz didn't play this year and Windham played a total of 106 minutes of garbage time. Assuming we lose Tyshon, we are basically trading Tyshon for Antwann Jones in our rotation. In addition, i think you have "slotted" guys into positions that doesn't translate to how McDermott used his guys this year. Specifically, i think the first game starting line up will be:
Zegarowski
Ballock
Jefferson
Mahoney
Bishop

Jones may replace Tyshon in the rotation, but I think Mahoney will take his place in the starting line up. As Tyshon's 35 mpg game are divvied up, at least 10 (IMO) will go to Denzel, who played 22 minutes a game this year. Bishop has shown what he can do with his 6'7" and will be our starter (again, IMO) with a healthy Epperson (off the bench, at least initially) being a huge bonus if that happens. If Epp and Kalk both end up being healthy and productive, we could see some lineups with Bishop at the "4" (if you want to use that terminology) but I think we'll see Mahoney get the most minutes in that spot. He clearly earned them. Jefferson played 27 mpg and that could/should tick up as well.

But, at this point, i just really want to see college basketball season in 20/21.
