Not really sure what made yesterday different than the last few weeks, but DePaul finally dropped out of the top 75 in the NET.

tomorrow will be interesting. St John's is sitting at 74 and plays at home today. Think there's a very real chance they fall out of top 75 as well.

I think that's a fairly safe bet.

DATA SET #2: One-day Volatility of NET Rankings: February 18 and 19, 2020

Observation: Last night Duke got curb-stomped at NC State 88-66. Duke had a NET Ranking of 6 both before and after the game, which indicates an absence of volatility. On the other hand, NC State’s NET Ranking improved from 60 to 52, an 8-point gain.

Observation: Last night Creighton lost at St. John’s 91-71. Creighton had a NET Ranking of 8 before the game, dropping 5 places to No. 13 after the loss. St. John’s NET Ranking improved from 74 to 64, a 10-point gain.

Conclusion: Without access to the NET Rankings formula, any explanation for the differences cited above would be purely speculative.

Marquette was 25 going into the game last night
DePaul was 81 going into the game last night

Will Marquette remain top 30? Will DePaul get into the top 75?

This year if the Big East had 2 more teams doing even what Providence did OOC- and was doing a 12 team- 18 game schedule- The league would get 8 teams in pretty easily AND the top 4-5 teams would all be getting top 4-5 seeds just as easily...

How's that working out for your AAC teams?

It's probably going to get at least 4 teams in if not more.... With good seeds.

Sorry but the round robin does not help the Big East out at all... Going to have a lot of 8-10 to 10-8 teams. A team probably gets knocked out of the tourney as a result- and a lot of ones that do make it in will be seeded so poorly like normal that they're in impossible situations in 2nd round.

Was going to re-visit this on Selection Sunday, but that ain't happening.
So, have to go with Bracket Thursday. These are the forecasts from Bracketville, the number one guy on the Bracket Matrix:

The odds were extremely good that the AAC was going to get in a 3rd team due to the conference tourney, and Xavier was going to be dropped... Wichita beats UConn, and they're in. Cincy beats Wichita, and they're in. Then Houston wins it all.
