Fivethirtyeight just did a feature on Ty-Shon’s defense and you’re telling me he’s not the DPOY?

Just saw a tweet that Powell is POY. Congrats to him and SHU fans.

Was probably hurt by Gill's team leading the conference in field goal % defense and by blocks being the flashiest defensive stat. He'd have been a fine pick too and unless he leaves early he's a good bet to pick up some individual honors next year.

Baldwin should’ve been POY and Justin Moore of Nova the FOY, IMO.
"When you lose a program like Creighton, there's no sugarcoating it," Valley Commissioner Doug Elgin said. "It's a devastating loss. They're going to go on and have success in the league they've joined." Yahoo Sports, October 10, 2013.

Besides blocks being flashy, having a shot blocker of that elite level changes the entire dynamic of the offense. You can take teams completely out of what they want to do, especially because your teammates can pressure more on the perimeter.
