No. 16 Mich St tops No. 19 Ohio St 80-69, shares B10 title

Michigan State (22-9, 14-6 Big Ten) shared the conference title with No. 9 Maryland and No. 24 Wisconsin. The Spartans will be the second-seeded team at the Big Ten Tournament behind the Badgers, with the Terrapins seeded third.

Izzo:
BANNER NIGHT

Izzo isn't afraid to show his emotions and did it again, choking back tears and pausing while addressing fans after winning the Big Ten title for the 10th time.

''It's the third year in a row that we're playing here for a championship,'' he said. ''And there is nothing in the entire world I like more than hanging banners.''

The other side of that coin is when you raise a banner that claims something it is not... This is courtesy of our friends out on Hawk HIll. Question for X fans...who was the Atlantic 10 Champ that year?

Technically, St. Joe's were only regular season champions of the East division, but since they finished 4 games ahead of the West division champion, it would be fair to say they were overall regular season champions.

...they just couldn't reinforce that with a tournament championship for some reason.

From what I see it only claims "Atlantic 10 East" Champions. I believe what he takes issue with is stating "Perfect Season" rather than "Perfect Regular Season."

Oh yeah, a perfect season would include an A10 tournament championship and a national championship. But I was also just being coy about what (or rather, who) stopped the A10 tournament championship.
