Going into the BET a win up is better than going in a win down because even if we beat the Hoyas we're most definitely losing to the 1 seed the next day. Then it's on to the NIT where I think we can pick up a win against a team not ready for our pressure.

I severely doubt they make the NIT.

yeah because if they lose Saturday, they'd need to make the SF to just be eligible for the NIT.

Although even with a win Saturday and finishing 17-16, doubt that gets NIT. I mean, first off, I think we're going to have a ton of NIT bid thieves. And then St John's would be down around 21-22. They're right on the NIT bubble IMO.

If the conference gets 6-7 teams in the NCAA you don't think we could get 2-3 in the NIT?

Not with the records the teams have. All 3 of them could enter the BET at 15-16. No sub .500 team has made the NIT since they did away with the .500 rule a few years ago. All 3 would be under .500 unless they go 2-1(and beat #1 or #2 seed) in the BET.

Also you figure there are 32 NIT teams. 10 or so will be gone from NIT bid thieves(where small conference #1 seeds don't win the tourney). So 22. At Bracketville, they have first 12 teams out. None of the Big East 3 are on there of course. So that leaves only about 10 spots. A lot of teams are there like UConn, Syracuse, Tennessee that are clearly ahead of those 3 right now.

If Xavier makes the NCAAT as expected, the BE has no other team even in the outer periphery of the bubble. A huge chunk of the NIT bracket is bubble teams that didn't make the cut + 1 bid league regular season champions that failed to win their conference tourneys. I don't think SJU gets a call from the NIT unless they finish really strong. Beating Marquette, Georgetown, then Creighton/Hall is probably enough.

Exactly, just the 1 heading back to South Orange, NJ 8-)

Whatever team left standing this year will earn the title of tough SOB's. 7 teams honestly could win.

This has not been a good day in the get St John's to the NIT. First the Northern Iowa upset(MVC was not getting a team in the NIT, so Northern Iowa losing doesn't help at all), and then Radford lost in the Big South and so thus is a NIT bid thief.

This has not been a good year in the get St John's (4-13) to the NIT. Also, your use of the English language could do with a bit of polishing.

Win, lose, or draw today, St. John's does not fit the profile of an NIT team.

Seriously? Perspective stever - perspective. There are some great games in the Big East today. Try focusing on them for a change.
