Most pathetic New England sports celebration was in January 2002, with Patriots fans in Kenmore Square chanting "Yankees Suck!!!" Think of how much the Yanks lived in Sox fans' heads til 2004. Wow. With the Sox and Pats being great these past 20 years, it's easy to forget how deranged and scarred we Boston fans had been growing up.

The three programs from mid-major conferences are likely all in the running for this. When you are a ranked team in the A10, Horizon, or Valley, there are plenty of opportunities to lose to bad teams on their home floor. And some of those times, a court-storming probably happens.

That's a good point. We got stormed quite a few times in the A-10

We at CU have the worst one ever. And this was only 8 years ago.

Not sure when SHU's last successful court rush was, but here's a video of our students getting rejected against #9 Georgetown in 2012.

Background - everyone thought that was the key win to lock up our first tourney berth since 2006, with only 2 easy games remaining. We followed it up by losing at home to Rutgers and getting blown out at DePaul. After going 1-1 in the Big East Tournament, the Hall ended up with the #1 overall seed in the NIT.

We've had teams storm against us a few times lately though. Our last 2 trips to Rutgers plus this game at PC. There may have been another one in there somewhere, I don't remember.

Aside from "rushing the campus" in 2016 and 2018, I remember Nova rushing the court most recently in 2013 when we beat Syracuse #3 and Louisville #5. Arch's freshman year.... just started getting good.

Now having the court rushed when we lost, I remember Penn (last year), Providence, Butler and Marquette kind of stand out. Did it happen in Creighton or at Xavier? Can't remember. Hall doesn't allow it, right?

I think its great for the kids, but I hope to God nobody gets hurt every time. There is going to be some blockhead in the group that will do something stupid... only hope calm heads prevail.

Did not happen when #5 Xavier beat #1 Villanova in 2016. (And frankly, I was surprised. Would've been OK with that one.)

Making it worse, it was a Bracketbuster game. Wheeeee! I'm glad none of the BE presidents were aware of this or we might not have gotten an invite.

On the other hand, it was a late game (9 p.m. start) and the most of the students were blind drunk. Not an excuse, mind you, just a footnote.

The year we were a 6 seed was Korvers senior year, we got stormed at Evansville and Southern Illinois.

At the latter game, a SIU student challenged Kyle’s pastor father to a fistfight during the postgame chaos.

This acting like you been there mentality really bothers me. The beauty of college sports is the interactions between student/athlete/fan. These moments are fun. Court storming its one of those things that make college basketball unique and sets it apart from the NBA. Dont professionalize the sport.

I dont care if you have been there before. Enjoy the moment and let the students maximize fun and create lasting memories which will draw them back as lifelong fans of their respective alma maters.

1986 buzzer beater by Billy Donovan at BC.

https://youtu.be/IN0tOrgk58A

12 second clip. When the Garden wasn't available, BC played on campus at Alumni Hall... tiny bandbox of a gym... great atmosphere. Kinda like Walsh Gym at Seton Hall or McDonough at GU. i think BC's had a secondary name like Fitzgerald Hall or something... something Irish, maybe O'Neill... [EDIT: it was the "Roberts Center"].

BTW, great highlights of Creighton from 2012, but did you have to remind me of Long Beach?
