wow 4 bids for the women that'd be great

This is very exciting. Playing in a dumpster-fire WBB conference these past few years has seriously hurt our women's team. Not ever being challenged ultimately hurts you when you play top teams (see our recent curb-stomping vs Oregon).

Lot of moving parts tonight with Seton Hall game, but bracket is starting to form.

Villanova losing to Butler throws it all open.

Big East with 3 of the 16 seeds announced by the NCAA today. I don’t think any conference had more.

I watched a good portion of the Memphis game yesterday. That is not a NCAA Tournament team.

It might be a circuitous path, but the AAC has a path to one bid.

AAC got trucked today.

Cincinnati loses to UConn
Wichita St destroyed by Houston
UCF beat Tulsa

The opposite of what all three AAC bubble teams wanted.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

1 bid league is very much a possibility if UC drops any more games and Houston wins the conference tournament

Impossible. I keep getting told repeatedly on multiple boards that the AAC is a power basketball conference that should get 5-6 bids annually.

The fact remains that history has shown that expectation to be vastly unrealistic. From 1989-2019 (thirty-year period), the AAC (minus UConn, of course) has a total of 95 bids (and that includes Wichita State). That averages out to just over three bids annually. Toss in programs like Memphis and SMU, who - once again - historically show themselves to be repeated probationary members, and it just becomes an incredibly tall hill to climb to make the jump into becoming a 5-6 bid annually. That requires half the league to be strong in a given year, and history has shown these collection of programs simply don't/can't do that.

Good luck to UConn on their farewell tour. Make it a great one.
