Our weaknesses here in February are the same as they were in non-conference, and each game we try to overcome them:
- PG position has struggled.
- Pipkins does one good thing-- he hits free throws. If he has a hot stretch and hits a couple-few threes, ultimately it will come back to hurt us, cuz he'll jack up 8 misses after that. His 35-foot three point attempt with 35 secs down three made zero sense. If Pipkins hits a couple threes, he needs to see the bench otherwise he hurts us.
- Diallo needs to stop shooting beyond 10 feet. Grab tough boards, grind it out down low, play tough D.
- Duke is fantastic. Gantt has been great. Watson and Young gave us good minutes. Reeves has room.to be more aggressive. White needs to run the offense like he has, but has to be more careful with the ball.
I'm not upset with the L. i don't expect us to get an NCAA bid. Just glad we're competitive. I like that we fight and grind. We are who we are, a team with holes that has 2 seniors that make questionable decisions, which cost us games.
As a conference I think we'll get 6 bids. Seton, VU, BU, Creighton, Marquette, and Xavier. Actually i think either Georgetown or the Johnnies are capable of getting a bid too. SJU beat West Virginia and Arizona, among others. Sometimes things click, and we still have 9 games plus the BET for them to get hot.
Also, Tim Miles ... actually pretty entertaining in a goofy way. Kind of like Dickey Simpkins behind the mike, just enjoying entertaining basketball without a lot of drama or whineyness like Spanarkel or Lappas. Simpkins isn't goofy though. Miles is a notch less goofy than the late Rip Taylor.
And X has a ton of talent across the board. Moore had key plays and Tandy of course. Great rebounding and played well against the zone.

Dude seriously cut the shit, we're 2-9 in conference, wtf you think, we're gonna all of a sudden win the last 7? IT'S NOT HAPPENING.
Give the extra bid to g-town, they kicked out asses.
We could be 2-12 in conf and some of you people would still say oh sju still has a chance, starting to become comic.
I gave up on the nit after we blew the 17pnt lead to g-town.
Sorry for the language but sometimes you just need to stop.

Believe it or not, but we're down to 7 games. SJU would have to go 5-2 to finish at 18-13. Even with the 2 good OOC wins, that's kind of a minimum requirement for them... Georgetown only 4-3, but a pretty difficult schedule remaining. 4 of the 7 games left with the close to NCAA locks now, and then also Xavier. The problem for both of them is that's the likely 8/9 game, where they play Wednesday night at 7pm, and the winner gets 1 seed at Noon the next day. Brutal turnaround. Probably would need to make the tourney at least win that game....

Yeah, i didn't realize we were already at 11 games. Also, didn't realize SJU was at 2-9. Teams can get hot, but i thought they were 2-7. Having said that, you think 7-11 and 18-13 gives them a chance? Is this Stever talking?
