Complaining about refs? Making excuses?

Are you talking about what’s been going on on Friar Talk the last 24 hours?

You forgot ‘blaming the coach’.

Really, what you’re describing (save for the style) exists in every fan base.

Thanks go out to gatorfriar for that breakdown of the BE. Interesting perspective.

BTW #2 until you win more than 1 regular season title (good job X) and tournament titles 0 in the NBE which is the real Big East Champion bring the chest back in will you.....

Are you saying that the midwest teams have some influence over the referees to get them to call a tighter game? or are you saying its not the midwest teams as much as it is the midwest refs? And what happens when those midwest teams go on the road? And are you saying the midwest teams have not been competitive in the BigEast? Really a strange post.

Anyway, the most impressive thing about the win yesterday was the toughness. Providence was PHYSICAL with a capital P. Not knocking them btw. Just Jays hung with them while sick (MZ), Injured (KJ, TA), and playing with a short bench. Tough is not usually a term used to describe Creighton. Could be interesting if this toughness continues.

It would've been nice of them to acknowledge it, but I agree it's not a big deal that they didn't. I'd have been surprised if they did. SHU asked, SJU declined, and that's fine. What I did find ridiculous though was SJU staffers not wanting Powell to keep the game ball and chasing him down to get it back.

They went to get the ball, he said he wanted to keep it and they let him. Why anyone thinks SJU staff or fans would be looking to celebrate Myles Powell is odd. I’m sure e’ll get his due in Jersey.

Why would Powell think that he got to keep the ball? I can't say that I have ever seen a college basketball player walk off the court with a ball (a little different than in football).

What's wrong with a player wanting to keep the ball from a milestone like that? I don't think that's uncommon at all.

Nothing wrong with "wanting" the ball, but I honestly can't say that I have ever seen an opposing player walk off the court with a ball like that. To be sure, I am not approving of the SJU staffer running after him, but it would have been pretty easy for an SID or someone at Hall to make the arrangement to get the ball after the game.
