Your argument was that neither Nova or Wichita looked impressive and that Dayton has higher Kenpom. My reply was appropriate. I guess Dayton's just better at lopsided wins because their resume isn't better than Nova's.

Enough about Dayton?

i just don't agree that nova or wichita have looked more impressive. i understand you're biased so i tried to use some objective metrics. that apparently had no effect. getting worked up about it either way is silly. i agree no more dayton

Instead of worrying about who others would less likely want to play while don’t we all worry about out team getting in and just winning?

kayako – I posted my reply to your post above on The Dayton Thread yesterday morning, where it is still awaiting Moderator approval.

Back to topic ==> Top 25 - Getting & Staying Ranked (2019-2020). Here’s some good national publicity for the Big East conference::

Big East a beast again with four teams showcased in Top 25 - Dave Skretta, The Associated Press - January 14, 2020
It has been a long time since the Big East commanded the spotlight like it does in college basketball these days.

In fact, you probably have to go back about seven years to the days before conference realignment, when Bob Huggins was stalking the sidelines at West Virginia, Rick Pitino was leading Louisville, and the conference tournament at Madison Square Garden might as well have been a proving ground for national championship hopefuls.

Those high-profile schools and others are gone, of course. They've been replaced by such schools as Butler and Creighton and Xavier. But wouldn't you know it? They are a big part of why the Big East is a beast once again.

The poll is laughable.

It's the over-reliance in raw win-loss record.

Throughout its 71-year history, the AP Poll has had a time-honored tradition of over-reliance in raw win-loss record: Milestone AP Men's Basketball Polls

But in 2018, no one here complained about it.

2018 Final AP Men's Basketball Poll
1. Virginia (ACC) .......... 31-2
2. Villanova (Big East) ... 30-4
3. Xavier (Big East) ....... 28-5

4. Kansas (Big 12) ......... 27-7

I kinda feel guilty for singling out Dayton knowing that we have Dayton fans here ready to object to my take. My first post was a part of a very brief set of reactions to BE placements in the poll + Baylor/Gonzaga debate. No, you can't convince me that Dayton has the better resume or has the better team, but I shouldn't have mentioned 351 division 1 coaches or placed myself in a hypothetical Mark Few position. There, I'll take it back. Great week for Dayton so far with beating VCU and Georgia & Vtech winning.

How far will Butler fall? My best guess:

Villanova 10
Seton Hall 12
Butler 14
Creighton 27 or 28

1/20 Poll

https://apnews.com/APTop25CollegeBasketballPoll

9 Nova
10 Seton Hall
13 Butler
RV Creighton and Marquette

Baylor gets its deserving rank.

Tbh Seton Hall looks like the better team, but Nova ranked higher makes sense.

Huge game for Butler @Nova.

Hope to see Creighton and Marquette make in there at some point.
