Big win for Georgetown.

Mac and Allen both with the flu. Allen collapsed on the side line as a result in the last minute of the game. Makes the win even more impressive.

few more wins by Providence and the losses to Providence won't be as bad.

PC HAS to get to 12 wins. Don't be one of those losses.

After the Texas win, I felt this would happen.

I am confused by this. Am I missing sarcasm or something? As of right now, Providence still has a shot at the NCAA, not just the NIT. That is #1. #2, when you say Providence is going to cost the league 2 bids in the process, are you talking about 2 bids to the NIT or the NCAA?

It's (mostly) just a joke about Providence faceplanting that three-game stretch in the OOC. That being said, I do think it's more likely than not that Providence falls short of the NCAAs but that Providence handing a bunch of teams losses in the conference slate could bump one or two of the teams that looked to be fringe tournament teams in December.

With a NET of 85 and climbing, losses to PC aren't resume killers, so I disagree with the notion that they'll be in any way responsible for keeping teams they beat out of the tournament. It's just frustrating that their OOC faceplant makes that net rating so much lower than their actual talent. As is, we have Big East teams playing tier 3 games against tier 1 talent. And of course PC's good enough that they should be playing not just for an NCAA bid but for a good seed. Instead, they're still considered a long shot just to get in.

Maybe I should have been more clear: I think it's likely that at least one Big East team, and possibly more, wind up in the first eight or so teams out, where one additional decent win very well can be make or break.

This is huge. Only played 6 guys real minutes, and two of them were sick and hadn't practiced all week. Hope they're feeling better on Saturday.
