Team A (Memphis) ranked 3 spots higher than team B (Butler). Lazy AP voters. Butler has destroyed just about everyone they have faced and vs. the one common opponent they win on the road by 9 as opposed to by 1 at home.

Butler fans, you have been relatively quiet about the lack of respect you are receiving. I will toot your team's horn for you. Butler has had an extraordinary OOC. They should be ranked top 5 IMO. Glad that the NET ratings are capturing their performance to date.

Tip of the cap from an opposing team fan who has been extremely impressed by your team...

The fact that they aren't even top 10 is absurd. Also, Memphis still being ranked is silly. The star player that justified their top 10 ranking isn't coming back, and they are one spot behind X in Kenpom at 29th. Their resume is that of a ranked team, but 8th in the country? No. I'm guessing voters are just waiting to drop them when they lose, because so many voters follow the stupid rule of not dropping a team unless they lose.

I'll be the first to say that I believe they should be ranked above Nova.

Thanks for all the kind words about Butler! (Also, hell of a win by Nova on Saturday.)

Honestly, I think Butler fans have just come to expect this from voters. It’s the bad part of being the sweetheart underdog program in most people’s eyes. They see Butler winning and attribute it to team work (and all that other Norm Dale stuff), but think there’s still no way Butler can be better than [insert any team that looks taller, faster, stronger getting off the team bus].

I personally couldn't care less about any poll.

Following the people who vote on these things on Twitter is a little like seeing the wizard behind the curtain not only doesn't have magic but a fully functioning brain.

I think a lot of Butler fans are trying to figure out how good we really are this year. We have played outstanding D most of the time, but have had some lapses and the O can still get stagnate. Saying that, they are a lot better than last year physically and mentally! I'm along for the ride and enjoying it! We're going to take some lumps in the conference, so just going to enjoy the hype, hope they keep doing the right things to get even better and smile! ;)

As for the restuvus...Keep winning and good things will happen - that's what I tell my Jays!

Good luck to all you guys, except when you're playing Creighton. Let the real season begin! ;)

Can't complain as a Nova fan, but we've become what I used to complain about, one of the teams that doesn't get underrated preseason and benefit from that in the polls. Switch Nova's resume with SJU's (or any BE team except PC) and we're easily ranked.

It’s tough without being able to pin it next to other resumes to compare. Two solid wins—one as a true away game—and two losses they’ll wish they’d won come March to potential bubble teams. Best stab—outside top 25 but receiving votes.

Polls are dumb. This is the best the league has been and only 2 teams are in the AP top 25... the lowest amount of all power conferences.

Kentucky hasn’t beaten anyone except Michigan State. Has three losses including against Evansville at home. “But they beat Michigan State”. So they are still ranked. Michigan State is their only notable win.

Michigan State also has 3 losses, and their best win by far is against Seton Hall. Kentucky (at 134) has a worse RPI than Buffalo (103)... the only team DePaul has lost to. DePaul is 5-0 vs the P5. And owns two wins against the current top 25. Yet they aren’t ranked.

Creighton’s only losses are to Michigan and San Diego State... both ranked. But is otherwise 4-1 vs the P5. The Jays resume is basically the exact same as Iowa’s. Iowa beat Texas Tech, and lost to San Diego State and Michigan. Identical. But they lost to DePaul also. So they are 4-1 vs the P5 like the Jays but have that additional loss to a DePaul team that isn’t ranked for some reason. Iowa has 125 pts. Creighton has 12.

Polls are dumb.
