With Providence, I donno, I don't want to state the obvious and ruffle feathers in the process. But this is a crucial time to stop the bleeding. Lose today and
1. Their season is over without question
2. They'll ruin bids and seedings
and the bad thing is that Providence still has 3 tough games left- tougher than any they've played so far- they haven't played a single KP top 100 team mind you- @ 94 Rhode Island, vs 31 Florida, and home 46 Texas.

Those games will be a chance to right the ship, but also could send them well out of the top 100, making them a landmine for the rest of the league. Their play has been as much of a surprise as DePaul's has, but in the opposite direction.

Which is why they never get voted in the top 3 or 4 of the preseason BE rankings, because non PC fans don't trust them. Which leads to multiple PC fans circling the wagons, usually led by friarJ. Every year it seems they have one or two poor stretches, only for Cooley to give a come to Jesus speech and them turning the corner into what they are pretty much every year, a bubble team. Actually the bubble should be renamed the Providence line in honor of their work the last 6 or so years. Maybe it's that archaic and antiquated offense that Cooley runs or whatever. The thing is, unless Cooley really is mailing in because of his new contract, he will get them near the bubble again somehow.

Usually there are always two (or more) sides to the story, but with Providence this is strictly on what they are unable to do (make a stinkin layup). It's kind of a blessing in that their toughest games are ahead of them. We'll see what they are made of.

What I do think is it didn't really matter who they played the last 3 games, they would have lost. If they're going to salvage their ooc, their only chance is to beat good teams. Not saying I like their chances.
Marquette didn't show up today.
