Well, with DePaul looking like they're finally on the rise, someone is going to have to step up and take all of those conference losses. The question is, will we end up beating each other up, and spreading those losses among 6-8 teams, or will a couple of teams become true bottom dwellers, eating a bunch of losses? Unfortunately, because our performance in the ooc this year has only been good, as opposed to outstanding, if we don't end up with a couple of dogs at the bottom to eat a bunch of losses, we're probably going to top out at 6 bids (and it could be less), and the seeds won't be great, setting us up for early tournament exits. Unfortunately, no league can be composed of all big winners. Someone has to be the dog(s). You can only hope that the dog isn't your team, and that teams cycle in and out of the bottom, rather than becoming what DePaul has been up until now. UConn is going to flex it's muscle when they return, so it's only going to get harder starting next year. The guy from St. Bonaventure kind of has the right idea, although adding teams fixes nothing, because there is no guarantee that a St. Bonaventure, Duquesne, or St. Louis, instead of becoming a loss eating dog, wouldn't rise and become a contender, pushing more of our current members down. Regardless of how many members we have, someone has to suck, it can't be avoided. Fortunately, it won't be Villanova, nor do I think it will be UConn or X. Everyone else is a potential candidate to become a cellar dweller, especially if their coach leaves.
