Hi everyone. We can't get here fast enough.

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything new on a new TV contract with UConn joining in the fall? I had heard some rumblings over the summer but I'm wondering if this will really pick up closer to next summer when UConn officially joins.

Also...what do people expect the set up to be with the 20 game schedule now? I know ACC opened their season with games, while Big Ten waits until late November/early December to start playing some conference games.

I'd expect an announcement next summer, when UConn officially joins.

My guess is that Fox would want us to do what the ACC did, and schedule a night of opening conference games for a handful of teams, and then have another set before Thanksgiving Tournaments take effect. I doubt our coaches would be in favor of that, but such is the effect of having 20 conference games. Since the Champions Classic is in Chicago next year, it would be kind of cool to have St. John's and UConn both host a conference game at MSG opening night (pick whomever as opponent).

Kudos for your win over Florida yesterday. More importantly, or as importantly, congratulations on having such a strong showing on TV. Gambell was rocking yesterday. That is the UCONN that the BE is looking forward to as a new (old) member.

If i'm not mistaken most conferences split the pot by one extra share for the conference itself so it can pay it's bills and it's staff. PR like conference commercials isn't free and neither are those media days everyone throws. Not to mention the conference championships for all of our other sports that the conference has to put on. Yes, they are usually at a members field/court/whatever but the school isn't footing the bill for that day the conference is.

Definitely the league takes a cut. I thought the MVC might’ve divided shares 1/12. School earning got 2, everyone else and the league got 1. I could be wrong.
