(3) Wednesday Big East Games 11/13/19

Curb stomped. No other way to put it. Reminded of that OU game in ‘15-‘16. There are some games you just too your hat and move on. With a young team trying to gel this will happen. They hit shots. Not sure how Gillespie has become the whipping boy. Kid missed a month with 2 injuries. We’re spoiled. He’s not Brunson; I get it. But he’ll be fine. The guy who didn’t show up was Saddiq. Really poor game from him.

The positives?
1.Cole Swider has unlimited range. If we’re a chuck and duck team I want him chucking. 6’9” sharpshooters don’t grow on trees.
2. Our D always improves over time. One of the most underrated things about JW is his acumen as a defensive coach. That’ll come around.
3. Young kids are getting experience that will pay off in March.
4. We have a dynamic HS All-AMERICAN on our bench. Antoine will help.

Now to our X fans...most of you are good BB fans. You have pride in your program, as you should. X has a great program; they’ve been historically relevant over multiple decades. I am a very passionate fan of my Alma Mater. So if I feel that another fan base is trying to troll or bad-mouth Nova I will respond. The X trolls on here remind me of the Cuse fans a bit in the sense that they over estimate the importance of their program in the college BB universe. Whatever. I will root for X to do well. Shared success for BE teams is important.

Gumby, I like you from what I read of you in your posts, and I certainly have nothing but respect for Nova.

Perhaps its semantics or splitting hairs, but "another fan base" - Xavier's fan base - isn't trolling or bad mouthing Nova. 2, maybe 3 Xavier fans on this board have taken shots, and I think some of those shots were in jest. Overall, the shots were stupid, given Nova's resume, but they also came from very isolated pockets.

While I get the value of a NC and even making it to the F4, as a PROGRAM, I'm not going to discount Xavier's program too much for not having won a NC just yet. It has won an NIT when that was still relevant (1958). I think that is fair to point out if total body of work is to be considered here. Beyond all that, as you noted, a great program that has been historically relevant over multiple decades. When anyone steps into the Cintas Center, they probably "get it" at that point.

We continue to chase our "2%", which means that we are determined to win a NC at some point. God bless Nova for its recent resume. And shared success for BE teams is absolutely important.

BTW, I didn't see last night's game as "Nova's fault". What I saw was one of those games where the Buckeyes couldn't miss if they tried. It was one of those nights, and it left you guys in a place where you had to try to find a way to fight back from what became an insurmountable lead rather early in the contest. An away game in Columbus at that. Move on. Jay will get them tuned up.

Nice post Dash. I appreciate the classy comments. Please know that I don’t intend to paint with a broad brush. I agree that the majority of X fans seem pretty cool and knowledgeable and as stated have good reason to be proud supporters of the Musketeers.

You know, normally I root for all Big East teams in the Non Con, however I laughed my ars off watching OSU destroy Nova tonite and I'll tell you why.

Gumby and his band of fellow entitled A holes repeatedly attacked my fine Xavier program in the most disrespectful manor possible on this board. A constant barrage of mid major innuendo and red headed step child insults. X has EARNED and deserves way more than what the self righteous VU fan base fail to acknowledge. In fact, X has been and will continue to be paramount to making the NBE successful. Until that changes, I hope you guys get exposed and stomped in the ground, ESPECIALLY in conference.

Nova looked like a half ass AAU team tonite. Pretty boys getting slapped around. Jacking up 3's like a weak bunch of playground wannabes because you have ZERO muscle down low. But hey, GQJ looked smashing!

I don't share this sentiment. Coming to this board and bashing fellow BE teams is pretty low. These are the kind of fans that I can live without.
