Before the game it was announced they'd already be without 5 players.
Jordan Tucker - 1 game suspension for playing in a summer league outside of the permitted radius
Derik Smits - injured (knee - day-to-day)
Markese Hastings - injured (off-season hip surgery)
Henry Baddley - concussion protocol
Christian David - illness
Then 5 minutes into the game, it appeared that Kamar Baldwin injured his oblique. He attempted to return, but left very shortly after and sat the rest of the game. LaVall said he could have played in an emergency and will be evaluated today. Then walk-on Campbell Donovan appeared to injure his knee and had to be carried off the court.
So Butler played with 6 players, including 2 freshmen and still held IUPUI to 47 pts.
McDermott has been unbelievably good so far this season - granted its against very week competition. But through the two pre-season games and last night McD is averaging 24 pts on 76% shooting from the field (67% from 3).

Also, the entire league is going to HATE facing Luwane Pipkins.

After watching the game in person, yeah, he’s DEFINITELY on to something. SHEESH is this team loaded with talent. Not the best starting 5 in the conference, but there may not be a team in the Big East that can matchup 1-9 with this depth. Also, the entire league is going to HATE facing Luwane Pipkins.

I can see that... not only does he have the chance to be good... he appears to be a real (good!) trash talker..
