Halls biggest challenge is going to be that they have a bigger target on their backs. That is a Tough adjustment. I remember bill parcels once said it’s much easier to go from 1-15 to9-7 than it is to go from 9-7 to 12-4. I really like McKnight though so they have the pieces to love up to the top 15 expectations.

I bet I can also name at least 1 school in every P5 conference that's had at least 5 head coaches in that same time span. It's really not that unusual.

I think this is fair, but I also don't think it's where we'll end up. With the Hall's schedule, a strong record will likely see them finish higher (possibly significantly) than this. However, it leaves a realistic possibility of a mediocre record - which may still be enough to get SHU back into the dance but likely won't get them many votes in the polls - and SHU never plays a style that the computer rankings fall in love with.

Hall has the chance to be a very good team this year. The lost the least of any BE team from last year's team IMO. I expect some of their young guys to take a step forward and they should have a good deal of depth as well.

I think for the Hall to take a big step forward they just need to learn how to be consistent. They can't just play to the level of their opponent--e.g. beats UK, Maryland, Marq & Nova and then go 2-4 vs the bottom 3 teams in conference. Go 4-2 in those games instead, and they're 11-7 in conference maybe a 7 instead of a 10 seed.

Interested to see how they use the big kid from Fl St. Mamu is actually a pretty effective 5 in today's game. He's mobile and can hit an occasional 3. Also if you drag him out of the post, he can handle himself in pick and rolls and switches. You can't teach tall I guess but there are simple ways to neutralize that height advantage.

I believe the plan is to use Mamu almost exclusively at the 4, where he's more comfortable. They'll also have two 7-footers to rotate at the 5.

Breaking News: Jacob Epperson was taken out of practice in a stretcher after an injury to his leg which is believed to be serious but immediate details were not known.

Good god this program is cursed. We can never and will never have any nice things. I wasn't even that excited to begin with for this season but given how already thin the front court was, safe to say the season is over before it officially starts.

On a real note though, pray for Jacob. Poor dude can't catch a break. Who knows it may not end up being the worst but it normally is.

What a blow to the team after losing Krampejl early. Jacob showed flashes of immense talent as a freshman only to be beset by injuries since. Had worked his butt off rehabbing to be ready for the start of season and now this. Sounds like it was a devastating injury too. Fudge.
