More Pre-Season Love

Postby xusandy » Sun Sep 15, 2019 12:03 pm

Lindy's pre-season guide, previewing all 350+ D-1 men's hoop teams, is now on the newsstands. They just rank the top 40 teams. They put 3 BEASTs in their top 20 (Nova, the Hall, and X), 2 more in the top 30 (Jays and Friars), and the Hoyas at #40. Marquette and Butler not far behind. Only St. John's and Depaul don't get much love from Lindy's.

Bottom Line: Another forecast for a BIG improvement from last year for the league. FWIW, both X and Providence have 4 starters back from good teams, plus quality adds, so the national pundits may be underrating both teams. However it all plays out, the BEAST is baaaaack!

Georgetown also returns 4 starters at least from the starting lineup that ended big east play.

May as well add another:

FWIW, X, Providence, Cr8n, & Seton Hall have 4 starters back from good teams, plus quality adds, so the national pundits may be underrating these 3 teams. However it all plays out, the BEAST is baaaaack!

Bart Torvik does a KenPom type site, using a ton of data. This for upcoming year.

Where do I sign up for Andy Katz' early bracketology:

2 East: Seton Hall
5 East: Georgetown
4 South: Xavier
7 South: Providence
4 Midwest: Villanova
7 Midwest: Marquette

I really love that East region which would obviously give us a sweet 16 of Seton Hall vs Duke and Georgetown vs Kentucky at the Garden. And then of course Seton Hall over Georgetown to go to the Final Four ;)
