Absolutely Huskers. Born and raised. Both parents' alma matter as well as 20-some aunts and uncles (11 of 12 of my dad's siblings, and all three on my mom's side - along with many spouses). First college football game I attended was Oklahoma 1972 with my Grandpa (year after the Game of the Century - Johnny Rodgers was still there). Family regularly watched and attended games. Tore my heart out when they lost (which wasn't so much in those days). Used to follow UNO also, until they dropped the program.

But, good golly did I hate Joe Cipriano style basketball (husker coach during the 70s), so Creighton was a perfect compliment for the basketball season. Attended CU Bball games regularly growing up in the 70s and then got my two degrees from Creighton. Raised my kids on Creighton basketball, even through life took them elsewhere for college. Certainly not near as passionate about Big Red football as in my youth, but when football season rolls around there really isn't any other team I have any connection to so might as well stick with the home team - hard as that has been over the last decade plus, but things are looking up finally.

Always cracks me up when certain Jays fans say you can't be a Husker football fan, even if you grew up in Nebraska, but its o.k. for them to be a football fan of their homestate or hometown football team.

First of all, literally no one who goes to Creighton who didn't grow up in Nebraska cares about UN-L football (thank God the majority of our student body/fanbase is NOT from Nebraska). Second of all, I despise my homestate football team (Mizzou). I'd have perhaps a little more sympathy for the small minority of Creighton students who are from Nebraska who still believe in the Easter bunny and UN-L football if UN-L fans didn't spend every waking moment thinking of ways to put down and be antagonistic toward Creighton. I get that they act that way because they're threatened, but good God, how can you have any pride as a Jays fan and want anything less than a Husker loss in every game?

I'm pretty much exclusively a bengals fan, but there's a small part of me that likes to see UC football do well just because they have so many local guys.

I've always found college football boring, so I've never rooted for a college football team despite supporting college basketball teams since I was a kid. I also grew up in the Southeast where college football is extremely popular. The sport just never clicked for me and I still don't understand how football runs things in college athletics. Fortunately college basketball is the clear #2 (for $$$) and #1 in terms of the postseason.

That said, I do occasionally turn college football TV on in the background... but I don't root for anyone. If anything I'll sometimes root against schools I don't like such as Syracuse or teams who dominate like Clemson/Alabama. Then when Clemson or Alabama inevitably win every year I shrug and stop thinking about it two minutes later. I love how in college basketball anyone can win the Tournament. If college football could somehow do a 68 team tournament then I'm sure I would like it a lot more, but of course that is impossible.

Technically Nebraska I guess is closest. Liked them growing up. I really don't put much into CFB anymore though, it has fallen way down the pecking order in my interests. Sports wise I go NFL, CBB, NBA, MLB/CWS then CFB. I just don't spend my Saturdays watching games anymore, don't really care for the insanity around that program in this state anymore either. I will watch a few Husker games this year as social events more than sporting events, but I am plenty happy to not be able to name more than a couple guys anymore.

Never followed college football except a few years when my cousin played at Maryland. No loyalties now. October is a break between Reds (since they rarely make the postseason) and Xavier basketball.

USC Trojans since 1989!

Fell in love in a Top 10 loss at #1 Notre Dame. Classic game on CBS. At that time Jim Nantz was calling college football. Fight on! The Song Girls, how could anyone not like.
