Sorry but a resume like that last year with the win over Texas Tech- they'd have gotten in. Especially with how close they were with Cincy and Houston late in the season.....

The problem you are making is you want to look back at UConn 15-20 years ago. The problem is the AAC wasn't around then. All we have to look at are these 6 years- and even really moreso only last 5 years after all the moves got finished. That UConn has not been strong at all. That's the UConn that we have to evaluate in terms of how it's going to impact the AAC on the floor. If the AAC was only getting 2-3 teams in with UConn being one of them, dominating the conference, then what you're saying would be spot on. But the fact of the matter is that has not been the case at all whatsoever. The average Ken Pom rating last 5 years for UConn has been 94.4. You say that's not fair, that includes the 17-18 season where they were putrid. That's fair. But then you have to consider the outlier the other way of the 2015-16 season where they finished 25-11.... But you take those other 3 years- and the average is 89. That's the UConn that the league is losing.

And if the Raptors lost game 7 to the Sixers they'd have gotten nowhere near the NBA title. Everyone has close games, it's a stupid argument.

And if the 5 NIT Big East teams did a tiny bit better we would have had 9 NCAA Tournament teams.

It holds 10,200 (10800 standing room only)or something close to that and depending on the year we’d average anywhere from 9800 to full sellouts. It’s always been full. It’s definitely been amped up since we moved to the big east though. The last three years we’ve averaged over 100% capacity on the year. More or less every conference game is standing room only now and something like the top 20 most attended games ever are either uc or a big east team.

So jealous of your on-campus arena! I've never been over there, but just listening to the crowd from TV tells me it's a superior experience to the Finn/WFC.

And that makes 11 institutions all focused on the one sport that we all love. And give me 20 more highly competitive games on FS1, in crystal clear HD national broadcasts, instead of 20 cupcakes. Add in the old rivalries and I'm good to go.

It's not a conference of schools who are looking to be somewhere else. We know who we are, we embrace it and all of our resources are pointed in the same direction. You Husky BB fans will enjoy the hoops discussion on the board. There will be occasional spats (mostly the in-fighting between various St. John's fans with each other  ) but we mostly pull for each other because we recognize that the BE is the last non FB power BB conference out there.

Loser - Stever. Anyone trying to peddle that this is actually "fine" for a conference like the AAC to lose it's historically top program is laughable.

Doesn't the fact that stever already was a loser mean that he can't be a loser because of the UConn move?
Xavier will surprise. Never count them out of the Dance.

Hilarious thread on the AACK board where fans are supposed to reminisce about when they owned UCONN on the court or field but Memphis fans couldn’t keep their focus and began waxing poetic about their victory over North Texas in the NOLA BOWL 16 years ago, apparently their proudest moment. I have no idea how you dealt with that board the way you did HuskyU but kudos

I'm not gonna lie, I've enjoyed UConn losing and hope they continue to. Conferences need dependable basement dwellers.

The Big East is the big winner here. As an X fan I'd be more worried if Villanova, with their two NC's in three years and total domination of the league since the reboot six seasons ago has already set the bar as high as possible. If the reports are accurate that Hurley has UCONN positioned for a rise to greatness in two years, it should help prevent what happened last year when both Nova and X were down a bit. I firmly believe adding the Huskies will put the BE in a position to challenge the ACC and the Big Ten as one of the best basketball conferences year in an year out. As fans isn't this what we're looking for?

Posters on the AAC boards (and some other football boards) either have a disconnect, or cannot process the English language, or are complete imbeciles... cuz they refuse to think about an issue from a different perspective than their own.

i mean, c'mon, it's been repeated to these dimwits a thousand freakin times that a great majority of the UConn fanbase may prefer getting back to their roots, re-establishing old rivalries, and getting back to the BET in Madison Square Garden.

Nice points all around. But, the bar still has room left to be raised. Nova has done a great job of flagshipping this motley crew...Well done Jay and Co. We have already proven we are one of the top/best conferences - year in and year out. The BE doesn't NEED to keep proving itself, but we do anyways. Yep, that's a small part of what we're looking for.

As for me...my vision is of Creighton owning you folks... Doing a Nova and running off a string of Regular Season and BET championships, making some good NCAA runs and just maybe getting lucky enough to win a Natty (before I cash in my chips). That's what we all should be looking for in our teams. Good hunting brethren.

I cannot definitively state which situation encouraged the use of more tin-foil hats; the C7 divorcing from the football schools (with the Big East getting a greater and better payout than the AAC) in 2012 or UConn's return to the Big East in 2019.

There were some absolutely fantastic posts from some serious posters in denial in both eras haha. I still give 2012 the slight edge, but 2019 is certainly giving it a run for its money.

I'm sorry. But I firmly believe that the ACC and the Big East are the two best basketball conference. B1G may at best be 3rd place. Was the Big East down last year? Sure. I still think the Big East is a better conference. We are slightly behind the ACC because they are larger and have a lot of depth.

If UConn becomes a consistent Top25 program again, the race between ACC/BIGE gets even tighter.

The goal should be to (1) continue recruiting at a high level, (2) retain coaches, (3) retain MSG forever.
