Stever- your response to situations like this is why we all get on your case so hard. This is one of those times where you just have to take the L and admit this sucks for the AAC. Either you're lying or your brain is doing some insane coping mechanisms to convince yourself otherwise.

None of us are saying this is the end of the AAC. I fully expect it to remain a multi-bid league. However, it is still really bad for the league.

Perception wise, I agree with you 100%. But as far as on the court metrics, really don't think it's the case.

Sounding like the AAC is gonna stay at 11 members and move to a full round robin.

Losers: Everyone in the AAC not named ECU/Tulane for having to play each of those NET dregs twice a year.

My favorite was the year he spammed the board with an obtuse insistence that there was no way the ACK was only getting in one team.

Then when it did only get one, people came from all corners of the globe to point it out to him. He spent the whole night doing the whole Sergeant Schultz thing: he was actively tilting his windmills in all the other threads while ignoring the one where everyone was clamoring for a statement.

The AAC has never gotten in only 1 team. And frankly never come close- the 2 times the league got 2 teams in the lowest team was a 8 and 6 seed. And the year that the board was claiming the most that the AAC was going to get 1 team in, they got 4 teams in, and that's without SMU being eligible.

So for "on the court metrics" you're ignoring UConn's class for this upcoming season? Recruiting has the strongest correlation to future success, and UConn is #2 in the AAC and #21 nationally. You're looking at a very small time frame of the past 4 years, and ignoring the prior 2 decades (4 championships) along with their future recruiting. If you were happy with this past year where 4 teams made the Tournament (and 2 last year), then sure this news isn't that bad. But I know you expect them to do better and UConn was critical to the AAC's future.

I just learned that a Big Winner is AAC Women's Basketball. Apparently AAC WBB is better off without UCONN stunting their growth.

They got 4 in and Memphis was realistically 2 minutes vs Texas Tech away from getting in last year as well.

I would have preffered adding Dayton theyre a better fit institution wise. But UCONN is a good add. I think the B1G or ACC will come for them sooner than later. Uconn has a decent recruiting class coming inn better than everyone except Nova. I also like their coach, maybe they'll be a top 5 team year in and out and certainly an upgrade from AAC, this league has 8 out 10 teams having tournament aspirations twice as much as the AAC. The league is a good place holder for Uconn. Also 9 out of the 11 schools have a shade of blue in their colors lol wow, should call it the Blue East.

LOL! Unfortunately, the UConn women are gonna blow the doors off of all the teams in the BE. It's not like men's hoops. The gap between the top 5-6 programs, and even the rest of the top 25 is a chasm. Even a league like the Big 10 would see it's teams crushed by the Huskies. The BE in women's hoops is nowhere near the level it is in men's ball. It'll be fun for those teams to get a shot at Goliath, but there are gonna be some beatdowns.
