When counting UConn as a member of the Big East, 10 of the last 11 NCAA Basketball champions play in either the Big East or the ACC. If you go back to the last 21 Championships, 16 winners are members of either the Big East or the ACC. That's some stat.

kind of like football- with the ACC and SEC- 15 of the last 21 championships have gone to those 2 conferences.

So both sports have gotten incredibly regionally dominated.

(1 small correction, for basketball it's 15 of 21 as well. Maryland is a member of Big Ten now and not ACC- I know, I still do that at times as well)..
