So its decision day for Krampelj and Mintz. Or at least decision announcement day. I don't think anyone thought Davion would do anything but test the waters a little and then withdraw. But, the longer it plays out, the more I wonder if he hasn't seriously considered going to Europe and start cashing a check. He was never going to make an NBA team. He is not going to play PG at Creighton again (even backup unless we lose someone to injury) and our wing position has become pretty crowded with the new guys coming onboard. He may wonder if he will get the minutes he may want this year. I honestly don't think he is our top 3 or 4 wing. I don't think Martin gets drafted, but he has worked out for a number of teams. I still expect that Martin will take a swing at making a summer roster with an NBA team and hopefully find a good fit on a G-League team with a legit shot to get called up, or go play overseas and see if he can catch someone's attention next year. Unlike many wearing their blue goggles, I don't see any benefit to Martin to come back to Creighton another year at his age and with his ACL history. Hoping I am wrong on both accounts, as Martin passing up his senior year will take Creighton from potentially a top 2 or 3 in the BE and top 20 team to middle of the pack and probably another NIT bid, if that. Losing Davion, means losing a good team mate and senior leadership. However, his leaving won't be felt near as much on the court as Martin going. We are going to be loaded at the wings, but sorely lacking in size.
