And every single one of those coaches would be viewed as underwhelming hires to the Michigan fan base. I actually think the Big East is pretty safe on this search, as the only one that would realistically be under consideration would be Wright. Warde Manuel didn't exactly hit a home run with his hires at UConn either.

If you search the interwebs - LaVall Jordan is a fan favorite to be the pick. As a Butler fan, I'm so tired of this...it's been going on for 20 years.

2000 - Collier leaves for Nebraska
2001 - Matta leaves for Xavier, then Ohio State
2007 - Lickliter leaves for Iowa
2013 - Stevens leaves for the Celtics
2014 - Miller disappeared off the face of the Earth
2017 - Holtmann leaves for Ohio State
2019 - Jordan ??

LaVall just turned 40 years old. If he was to be offered the Michigan job (and I don't think he will), he will have had three major college basketball jobs already. That is approaching Lane Kiffin-esque career trajectory, with so little to actually show for it. Jordan has been a head coach for three seasons, yet only one of those was above .500. It would be an underwhelming hire for Michigan, considering how deep they have played in the past several seasons.

Yeah, I doubt Jordan is high on the list, he still needs to show he can have sustained success at Butler.

Gregg Marshall would be the home run here.....Porter Moser to a lesser extent but hey, Steve Alford needs a job. That would create some interesting story lines!!!

I think the bloom is off Marshall's rose.

My lord I couldn’t disagree more. Greggggg is a horse’s ass. And his wife is a million times worse. They are the definition of what a “Michigan Man” is not if you buy into that crap. And Michigan people definitely buy into it.

By “home run” I meant proven winner with sixteen 20+ win seasons at a 72% clip (502-196). Only 1 losing season.

Ok. In that case, I think Coach K would be their home run hire.

Not sure, but he's on the list... https://www.freep.com/story/sports/coll ... 700055002/

Would be ridiculous for Barry to be conducting his 4th coaching search since joining the league, all of which would be occurring in June or later. Can't blame him if he gets the opportunity, but getting pretty sick of this crap.
