Smits should be a noticeable upgrade compared to the Fowler/Brunk combo IF he can log more minutes than he did at Valpo. He doesn't seem to have excessive foul issues but he only averaged 22 MPG last year.

The line up looks like Baldwin, Thompson, Tucker, McD and Smits.......formidable group. Should be better than last year.

NZE is a very large and thick player with good athleticism that will be a big factor and Battle will be something to watch... Hastings if he gets healthy is also a darkhorse to be very good, but Thompson has been seeing the shot doctor and will be a force with even the hint of an outside shot... Butler will be better by a good margin this year. Book it...

Thompson, Baldwin, McDermott, Nze, Smits will be the starting lineup with Tucker as the 6th man, and depending on his ability as a freshman, Battle/Golden/Baddley/David as 7th. I could easily see McDermott starting all season, but Tucker logging more minutes. Believe it or not, I really think depth is the problem at Butler - too many good players, not enough great players.

And ya'll better watch out if LaVall Jordan gets what he's wanting in 2020.

i'd be shocked if tucker didn't start. despite a pedestrian year last year and some growing pains, he's your most talented player imo.

Tucker has the biggest upside, but Baldwin is the best.

Butler picked up a commitment in the 2020 class from 4star guard out of District of Columbia Chuck Harris. 6-1 4 star and ranked 94th in the country by 24/7 sports. Good pick up.
