I think in some ways St John's got lucky when everything was at it's worst the last 2 days or so you had-
Wednesday- NFL schedule release
Thursday- Mueller report release

that distracted a lot of folks Also had Yankees/Red Sox series which didn't hurt St John's at all either.

Cragg was recommended Anderson by his Duke connection.
Ahhh the Duke connection is already paying off.
Borman is coach K's nephew.

Duke of the northeast?
hmmmmm lol

Borman is coach K's son in law

Mike Anderson has taken any open moment he gets to talk with @StJohnsBBall players. Mustapha Heron said Anderson called him up at 8 AM this morning to talk. Good signs. #SJUBB

Don't worry too much about it.

The fact of the matter is that St. John's essentially landed on its feet after having to navigate a rather bizarre, emotional process.

Look at it this way, in today's society, with news cycles being such that most humans have the attention span and memory capacity of gerbils, all this will be out of the public's rearview mirror well before the 2019/20 season cranks up. Even better yet, it's resolved. The guy can actually get to work.

Frankly, if I were an alum, I would be focused on the fracture in the institution's leadership at this point. What on God's earth is up with that? The basketball program will be fine - - I can't see the St. John's brand falling off the ledge. Otherwise, the institution deserves solid leadership.

LOL!....thanks XU!.....i love the gerbil comment!

Seriously, I really am concerned about the leadership at SJU.....for those who don't know, Bobby Gempesaw was the first lay person to be named President of the University. Prior to that time, it was required that the President be a priest from the Vincentian order. When Bobby was named about 5 years ago or so, I had hoped he would lead the University into the 21st century since it felt as though the school had been led by dinosaurs. I have always appreciated the Vincentian mission to serve and educate the poor but the University needs to understand that you can make money (via the men's basketball program) and use those funds to further serve the mission of the school.

I really hope that this was a speed bump in terms of the men's hoops program and I will be devastated if Mike Cragg leaves because he encountered so much interference and was (initially) unable to do the job he was hired to do. I also hope that this is a wake up call to the Board of Trustees that they need to take a long, hard look at the President and his staff to determine if we are on the right path as a University.

Zach B:

If Andy Borman is added to staff, which appears likely, was told good chance 4 star guard Nate Tabor would recommit. Strong relationship there. #sjubb

I really doubt Borman comes if Cragg leaves.

One of my favorite moments, is the great of all time Dick Enberg on the call as the twin brothers with a blind pass. BTW, the coach of that team Mike Anderson
