A Review of Georgetown

OUT:
*Kaleb Johnson
*Greg Malinowski
*Trey Mourning
*Jessie Govan

BACK:
*Jagan Mosely
*Jahvon Blair
*Jamorko Pickett
*Josh LeBlanc
*Mac McClung
*James Akinjo

IN:
*Galen Alexander (JuCo)
*Malcolm Wilson
*Timothy Igohoefe
*Qudus Wahab
*Omer Yurtseven (NC State transfer)

Shaky season for Georgetown and an especially shaky loss to Harvard. But there's a lot to look forward to! It was a year of learning for the Hoyas. They'll be a better team with a year of experience under their belts and some talented (and big) players on the way. Yurtseven should be a very good player. I'm not sure what to think on Ewing and his coaching. He ain't horrible but could be better.

What say you?

If everyone returns and makes the expected steps forward we should be a tournament team and compete for the BE title.
But we had 2 sophomores who made the freshmen team last year and took a step back this year, so there's no guarantee we'll see improvement from our 3 all freshman team freshmen next year.

I think you'd be wise to lower expectations. you guys finished 98th in kenpom and lose more than anyone in the conference outside of nova and depaul. providence, xavier, creighton, seton hall, and marquette all bring everyone back. it's unlikely you jump up into the top 3-4 next year with how good the conference will be. i think a top 60 team that hangs around the bubble is a good expectation for you next year. 5-6th in conference

It's pointless to try and play the "we'll be better than you" game at this point. Players will declare, rosters aren't settled. Come back to this in September.

As for Georgetown, thanks for the contributions from the seniors, but not sure any of them will truly be missed. Three of them were defensive sieves. Next year anticipate seeing improved interior defense. Govan was an good offensive player, but Yurtseven will fill that hole and play better defense.

i just don't think it's fair to expect GTown to make that big of an improvement from a fringe top 100 team to winning the big east. that's a big jump. that's not to say they won't be very good.

Other than Govan, the Hoyas aren't losing much. And they will only miss Govan's offense, not his defense.

Ewing has four centers coming next year (lol) Yurtseven, Wahab, Wilson and Igohoefe.

After having solid a sold freshman year, Pickett and Blair disappeared this year.
Hopefully they will show some improvement next year.
