Not even really sure why Creighton made the move from the WCC you got to figure travel is about the same and WCC would be more like-minded schools

The AAC misunderstood that all remaining sports not in the Big East would go to the AAC including Creighton rowing. The women's crew actually is an associate member of the WCC and after pointing out what the AAC had and a couple conversations, Creighton rowing will continue to compete in the WCC in the near future.

Agreed. Get an intern working on this already.

This shows you how unorganized everything has been. It doesn't take much to use a newspaper/newsroom template and come up with a simple website to publish on the day-of.

Why wouldn't you at least have some fly-by graphics of national titles, final fours, hall of famers, etc?

Well a good website should take 1-3 months of development likely for a Big East caliber website(if you start from scratch), depending on the number of people working on it. Based on my experience as a web developer. I don't know that you would want to waste resources on graphics on the front page, I would rather have the full website done earlier.

There were some who claimed that the late hiring of a commish was not really a "big" deal.

Perhaps not, but all of the "little" things are left undone as a result.

The fact that we have been without a conference staff (sans Don Beebe) for all this time is pretty amazing when you really sit down and think about it.

Veteran sports marketer Ann Wells Crandall is joining the new Big East Conference as its first CMO. She will begin her new job Sept. 10, based in N.Y. and reporting to Commissioner Val Ackerman. Crandall will oversee marketing and sales, including brand development, advertising and promotion, corporate sales and sponsorship, licensing and digital strategies. She will also oversee the conference’s relationships with FS1 and MSG, which will host the Big East basketball tournament. Crandall most recently served as Pac-12 Enterprises Exec VP/Business Development & Strategic Partnerships.

Maybe she knows how to build a website?

Some news:

The new and improved BIGEAST.org is currently in development and will launch in the coming weeks. A number of unique factors created the need to start from scratch and that is the reason for the delay. Please continue to visit the BIG EAST Facebook page, BIG EAST and each member school's sites for the latest information.

They need to get this up and running ASAP. I'm interested in soccer and volleyball and it would be nice to see schedules and standings online.
