sure Big East got more teams in, but the units will be between 0-2 apart. Not that big of a deal at all.

If it's 13-11, when the number of teams are 10:14, that's not exactly chump change. that's 50% difference. The seeds is important and alll, but our teams had their chances against injured teams.

I think average person is more likely to remember that the BE 5 or 6 bids every year since the remodel than what seeds they all got. How many people remember all the seeds of the 11 BE teams that got bids from the old BE? very few I'm sure. More know that the BE sent the most ever from one conference. Anyway the 10 member B12 is doing fairly well in this tourney. If they can do it so can the BE at some point. It could have very easily been Creighton instead of KState playing right now for a spot in the final 4. That's not how it worked out. Some year it just might

Folks don't remember how many teams conferences get in the tourney, unless it's something crazy like 11 bids for a conference. Note I didn't say 70%, but rather 11 bids.

right but it shows how the gap between 4 to 6 teams getting in can be very meaningless. Right now it's 12-12. If Nova wins, 6 bid Big East will get all of 1 more unit than 4 bid Big Ten.

When you look at it from the perspective that the Big East has 10 teams, while the Big Ten has 14... there is a huge difference in units/team

Of course, you have no interest looking at it that way.

Anyone know how the Big East divides the tourney credits?

That's fine, but it does show a conference that gets 4 teams in can earn just as much raw as a conference that gets 6 teams in. It wound up being 13-12 with the conference with 6 teams in getting 1 more unit than the conference with 4 teams getting in.

I think folks here want to focus solely on the number of teams getting in, but the way the NCAA works it, you can overcome a number of teams in edge by performing well. Last year the ACC got 9 teams in with 18 units earned. SEC got only 5 teams in the tourney, but got 16 units. SEC both this year and last wound up with 16 units, despite last year having 5 teams in the tourney and this year having 8 teams in.

The Big East does not divulge its formula, other than to say that it includes both a base pay out and incentives.

Sorry, I’ve been out of the loop. Could anyone tell me how many PAC 12 teams made the 2nd round, SEC teams made the Elite 8, or ACC teams made the Final 4?

Yes, I can help with that!--- Zero, zippo, nada, none. Add the AAC not getting out of the round of 32 and you have a perfect Quad 1 for those four leagues.
