Taurean Thompson

Still awaiting some sort of official confirmation, but the SHU boards are saying that 4-star ESPN-100 power forward Taurean Thompson committed to the Pirates after his visit today. If true, this is another huge get for Willard and staff. They needed to follow up that huge class with more strong recruiting and have now added two 4-stars for 2016 (Thompon and Myles Powell) and another for 2017 (Myles Cale).

Excellent pick up. If Whitehead comes back Seton Hall is looking scary good

Would be huge, another top 100 player. Syracuse and UCONN were the other contenders.

Update...no commitment yet, just some trigger happy posters (the shu boards are a notably unreliable source). That being said, SHU is still very much alive in his recruitment and possibly the favorite.

TT is visting Syracuse this weekend. I'm not sure how this one will go, but him visiting Syracuse isn't good for SHU.

This kid sounds like too many people in his ear. Go to SHU and become a better player. JB is leaving Cuse soon.

Sounds like shu fans jumped the gun. him going back to visit Syracuse can't be a good sign.

From what I generally understand here (no inside info, just putting pieces together), Thompson really wanted to go to Syracuse, but then they went cold on him. With cuse out of the picture it seemed down to UConn and Seton Hall and after his visit this past weekend he seemed set to commit to SHU (some are saying he even told the coaching staff he was coming) but then, it seems, he got an 11th hour call from Boeheim.

SHU isn't officially out of it yet, but it doesn't look good.

If the above is true I'm not sure I'd want to accept a commit from him now. What's he gonna tell Willard when asked why he flipped back and forth? It sounds like he just wants to go to the program with the most prestige. Choosing schools for the wrong reasons, that's a warning sign..
