2014 Cal SF Ricky Kreklow (Creighton commit)

Postby Jet915 » Tue May 20, 2014 4:37 pm

Ricky Kreklow, former Mizzou/Cal player has decided to transfer to Creighton as a WALK-ON over apparent scholarship offers from Mizzou, Nebraska, Butler etc......Injury plagued most of his playing years, if healthy, can challenge Dingman for a starting spot.

Creighton has landed Cal transfer Ricky Kreklow. Will graduate and play this season.

Greg Mcdermott & his staff have done a nice job with transfer market this offseason. Added point guard (Watson), big man (Huff) and Kreklow.

Crazy thing is I am told Kreklow chose to walk-on at Creighton over scholarship at other quality spots.

Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein 3m
Creighton isn't going to be as good as last year, but an Austin Chatman, Devin Brooks, Ricky Kreklow perimeter is solid in the Big East.

Jeff Borzello ‏@jeffborzello 10m
That's three transfers for Creighton this offseason: Maurice Watson, Cole Huff and now Ricky Kreklow. Post-Doug McDermott life ain't so bad.

This, to me, speaks volumes about the Big East, the direction the league is headed and the outside perception of that direction.

Loved this quote of his:

“Having seen what has been built there and knowing what Creighton’s brand on the basketball court stands for, I just felt this was the best fit for me. What Coach McDermott and his staff are doing there is pretty special.”

"Walking on at Creighton instead of taking a Nebraska scholly is like paying for a steak dinner instead of eating a free Big Mac. #Kreklow"
