Creighton got a good one in Ronnie Harrell. Great size and can shoot it. Could be an impact player next season for the Bluejays.

Along with being #71 on ESPN Top 100, CBS 247 just updated their rankings and moved him up from the 220s to 146.

I once heard Dana Altman talk about recruiting and he said the top couple dozen best players in a high school season were obvious; his wife could pick them out as special. He went on to say that #26-200 were pretty much throw them in a hat and pull them out as far as being able to tell who would blossom in college and who hit their ceiling as a high school junior.

It's nice to see these rankings and all but the truth will be known a few years down the road.

It's interesting to see how these rankings have real life impact on the amount of transfers taking place. Player X transfers because:

a) He thinks he really is a Top 100-200 player even though struggling in high major program after a year or 2 so transfers to another high major or
b) Underrated recruit blows up at mid-major or JC & feels he should be re-recruited as high major transfer or
c) Recruit realizes he was overrated as high-major and moves down to mid-major after struggling in high major program.

Harrell has a ton of room to develop physically, but he has some key components of what Creighton wants -- he's a high skill guy who can shoot from DEEP on the perimeter and has the ability to add even more range as he gets stronger. He can handle the ball as a former PG and is a guy who enjoys passing and distributing off the bounce. As he gets stronger, I think his length and athleticism will fit in well defensively. I tend to think he's looking at a RS year just to put on more weight and strength, but he could step in and be a shooter off the bench as a frosh.

He's a clear indication that Creighton won't be leaving their style of offense behind after Doug and Wragge graduate.

Solid interview about how he sees himself coming to CU.

Eric Bossi wrote that Harrell is one of 3 players that stand out to him to make the jump into the top 150 and that more likely he will jump in as a 4 star recruit. "Harrell is a tall and lanky wing with a high level of skill."
