3/4 star PF Ben Bentil announcing mon, PC, Miami, or Temple

He was a consensus 4star top 100 all summer and just recently ESPN downgraded him and dropped from top 100.

Rivals ranks him as a 4star top 100.

He announces tomorrow, buzz is he's going to PC. He was option 1A for PC after Malik abdul Abu who went to nc state. This would be another monster get for PC as it fills a need at that spot for 2014, where they already have a top 20 class in 4 stars Jalen Lindsey and 7 footer Paschal Chukwu

Lol you guys up in prov are greedy. The Friars only have 2 seniors this year, Batts, & Cotton, outside of center you guys are loaded with young talent. Hard to believe that's not part of why Joseph & Terrel went elsewhere. Even Lindsey will have Austin, who's a terror, and Henton ahead of him next year. 2015 is the big need year for PC IMO.

That said I hope Cooley gets Bentil in the BE tomorrow....or Taylor.

:), it wasnt long ago that PC was competing with mid majors for recruits- but that has changed since Cooley arrived. Losing ABU was a huge blow, but Bentil is the best case scenario now and all signs look like PC is his destination.

As far as 2015 being a need year; PC will lose 2 contributors- but they may not be starters. And 2 other guys who get limited minutes. If no one leaves early for the draft...I really like the direction and talent on the team over the next couple years. A welcomed change from the past coaching regimes.

I read that from 2000-2010 PC got 4 top 100s. In Cooley's 3 years since he's gotten 7 possibly 8 via direct recruit or transfer.

PC loses 3 seniors: Batts, Cotton and Goldsbrough.

My feeling is that Austin will get more time at the 2 when he is a Sophomore, and Lindsey will initially be more of a 3.

As of now, Henton is undersized 4. If he can develop his handle, he could be a 3.

Word out that Ben Bentil of Delaware has chosen the Friars over Miami, Temple, etc.

Big East now has 3 teams in the Top 8 according to 247sports. http://247sports.com/Season/2014-Basket ... amRankings

Two of them being the lowly Pirates and Friars. This Big East conference is going to be a dog fight.

The program turnaround on the recruiting front is nothing short of remarkable. The 2014 class is strong and deep now for PC and they may or may not be done yet. Exciting times in Providence.
