I'm looking forward to tonight's Creighton - Villanova match at Villanova.

Edit to add: I guess I won't be watching the match tonight. The watch online link from Villanova's website leads to a site that charges $9.99. Most universities provide free streaming to its volleyball games. What a joke.

Creighton beats Xavier 3-0 and wins their second consecutive Big East regular season title.

Marquette was the last team to pop up. I was hoping it was third place Xavier. Shocked and happy it was Marquette.

What is the deal that Creighton doesn't host? Just because they didn't put in a bid.

Yeah, it's really messed up. We have to go to North Carolina against 3 other teams from Carolina. Apparently, we didn't think we would get a national seed so didn't submit a bid to host. Also, it apparently costs money to submit a bid. Sounds really stupid way to screw a national seed over.

MU put in a bid and had a great RPI and didn't get a national seed in 2013. VB coach Bond Shymansky left to go to his old school Iowa. I don't blame Creighton since their RPI and in the polls were not that high to think they would have gotten a national seed.

I'm a Dayton fan just checking out anything I can find on Villanova since I had not seen them play ever -- let alone this year. I do know a little about the bid process. I do not think there is a cost to submit a bid (not 100% sure on that -- but I don't think so). There is a guarantee the school has to sign off on if they are awarded a host. Basically sell X amount of tickets or write a check for the difference to the NCAA. I would not be upset with the NCAA if Creighton did not submit a bid -- but rather take a look inside Creighton Athletics administration. Also, sometimes there is a scheduling conflict for some of these schools if they share the gym space with another sport. I don't know Creighton's set up, but it might have factored into their non-bid decision. Hope this helps answer a couple questions.
