Friar Emily Sisson - NCAA Champ, Women's 5k Meter...

The Big East grabbed another national championship today:

Providence's Emily Sisson won the NCAA individual championship in the 5000 meter race, easily winning by an insane 8 seconds.

I'm sure you know, but it's sort of interesting, that she is from Omaha and went to high school here.

She is truly a superstar. Best woman long distance runner in college by far, and she is even better at the 10k, where she will hopefully qualify for the Olympic team at. She has the fastest 5k ever run in HS and the fastest 5k ever run in college. Pretty amazing considering she is barely over 5' tall.
