Unfortunately, the Big East only received 2 bids for the women's NCAA Tournament in DePaul and Seton Hall. To make matters worse, it seems unlikely either will get past the first weekend as they both landed 9 seeds.

DePaul faces Minnesota in South Bend with the winner getting a crack at the host, Notre Dame.

Seton Hall drew in-state rival Rutgers. This is an intriguing match as Rutgers refuses to schedule Seton Hall in the regular season, taking the attitude that they're too good for bother playing the Pirates. It's a great opportunity for the Pirates to make a statement to RU but the prize, unfortunately, is a second round date with UConn.

I've heard that Ackerman spends a disproportionate amount of time and resources on WBB to the chagrin of other sports where the BE has maybe a better chance to have a national impact like volleyball and soccer. I hope that's not the case because WBB is a big time revenue sieve.

Can't believe Georgetown got left out.
