For what it's worth, I don't know exact numbers, but I know the word is that DePaul's Board of Trustees had recently approved a significant increase to the budget for the Men's Basketball team.

CBS is reporting that DePaul has committed $5 million to its coaching pool, and now has more than $2 million in NIL funds.

This year's DePaul team had less than $250,000 in NIL funds.

By far the best hire DePaul has had in generations, hard not to be optimistic. He doesn’t need to deliver Sweet 16s, just needs to break the culture of losing that plagues DePaul - which is the hardest thing to do at programs stuck like that.

Damn that's a lot of boomerang coaches in the conference now.

Villanova now has the worst coach in the conference.

I'd argue Stubblefield/Brady are better than Neptune.

Fair. I assume Nova will wait one more year to fire Neptune, which is a bummer cause you know he ain't it so why waste more time. Programs always wait too long, hopefully it works out like it did for Marquette and Shaka cause Shaka probably wouldn't have been gettable 2 years earlier.

Seems like a decent hire. There has to be a last place team every year but hopefully we can get into a cycle where every team can make the tournament at least a couple times a decade. I'm not sure what the normal NIL budget is for most BE teams but $2 million sounds competitive to me. Best of luck!
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
