Don't know if anyone here ever listened to Bill Simmons, but the SJU/Providence feels like what he would call a "loser leaves town" match

Butler Marq game is a slug fest so far! MU is so damn fast on defense now! Hard to get a good shot on them for sure!

MU played better than us and made us turn it over way too much!
No quit, but couldn't beat them when they play D like that.

Pretty cool how Pitino was stumping after the game for Billy the Kid to be up in the rafters in Providence.

Really odd season. Obviously like most St. John’s fans I was stoked when pitino took the job. But the way this roster was put together was super weird. And for someone who is a hall of fame coach, I feel like we aren’t coached well?? And on top of that, pitino never calls off the damn press even though our opponents bust it with ease.
We tied the game at 70 tonight and then overdid the press and Providence got a quick fast break layup. I just don’t understand the press. We did it the entire game and maybe got 2 steals? Compared to literally like 40 different Providence fast breaks that lead our defense into scramble mode.
Sucks to say the coaching has been less than stellar here, even with the roster issues I think we have, I expected more from Rick
