Johnnies looking to play Duke at Arthur Ashe?

Reports are that St. John’s is putting together a big non-conference schedule next year and is in advanced talks to play Alabama at the Garden and Duke at Arthur Ashe Stadium at the National Tennis Center which would quite frankly be awesome. I think Rick wants to play in every NYC arena.

The USTA shouldnt allow that. I don't see the point. Leave Arthur Ashe Stadium alone

UBS Arena and MSG only miles away and better suited for college ball

First negative take I've seen regarding this. It's great cross promotion and AA already hosted a basketball game (WNBA Classic). As someone who lives right between MSG and AA (on the 7 line), the idea of playing in a unique stadium like this is incredible. Will make for excellent TV and also can fit in more fans than MSG and UBS.

If Duke and Fox are pushing for this, they know it'll be a ratings hit. Likely the most viewed game on Fox that year (not counting following an NFL game). Amazing for the league!

Exactly.

The first thing I thought about was the outdoor hockey events they have been holding.

I just think you guys have really nutted this. Kudos for taking advantage of being located in NYC.

They played college basketball games on freaking aircraft carriers and the military gave approval. I think this will work out just fine.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.
