Having 8th and 9th team winning doesn't help.

with Providence and Butler in the first four. Obviously not ideal.

Playing in the First 4 offers a better chance at a first round win, and thus more NCAA units for the league. I don't really see it as a negative.

I've been saying this for years. But the likes of Rothstein continue to perpetuate how awful it is to be sent to Dayton for 16 seeds. Let's see, play in a primetime matchup with near 50% chance to win, advance, and double your tourney credit, or get beat by 50 points to UConn in a half-empty gym Thursday afternoon?

right. And Rothstein instead of doing a new tweet every time just reposts the same thing over and over and over again.

Part of the reason we've seen so many more upsets lately in the tourney is that we have the first four taking out 2 horrible teams early. The 12-15 lines are so much better than before.

Yeah and Field of 68 has started to regurgitate this nonsense, too. If you replace 16 vs 16 games with just last at-large teams, the result is likely transfer of money from the have-nots to haves... lol what are these people thinking i have no idea. I wouldn't count on 16 over 1 upsets becoming a thing, though. Just think it was lightning strikes twice scenario with 2 very specific styles vulnerable to upsets.

I like what I see there but Jerry Palm isn't especially good at what he does.
