Lunardi right now:
Marquette 2 E Columbus vs Colgate, Northwestern/Auburn
UConn 3 S Greensboro vs Vermont, Miami/Utah St
Xavier 4 MW Albany vs Iona, Indiana/Oral Roberts
Creighton 6 W Albany vs Miss St/Pitt, Kansas St
Providence 10 MW Sacramento vs Mich St, Arizona

If UConn gets 3 seed, they're likely going to not be in NYC.
Kansas gets 1 MW
Texas gets 2 South

if Big 12 gets 2 3 seeds(Baylor and Kansas St) they have to go West and East by bracketing rules.

The committee likes to get cute with matchups. Do they force a X vs. Dayton matchup if the Flyers win today?

it's possible for sure.

With the Yale win the 12/13 seed lines are gonna be as good as we ever see it I think. the 4/5's will be tested in rd 1 and 2 for sure.

Hypothetically...

12. Pitt/ASU, Charleston, Oral Roberts, Drake, VCU
13. Kent, Iona, Louisiana, Furman

We'd get 2 extra 12 seeds and 16 seeds... do I have this correct?

Don't think so. Pitt/ASU would be on the 11 line as the 2nd FF game.

So if they expanded to 72 if I'm getting your idea would be 2 FF games with the next 4 at large teams, then Charleston and Oral Roberts as 12 seeds. 13 seeds would be Drake, VCU, Kent St, and Iona. 14 seeds would be Yale, Louisiana, Furman, and UCSB.

Lunardi final bracketology:
Providence 10 S Des Moines vs Missouri, Texas
Xavier 4 MW Albany vs Kent St, Texas A&M/VCU
Marquette 2 E Columbus vs Kennesaw St, Northwestern/USC
UConn 4 W Albany vs Iona, Iowa St/Oral Roberts
Creighton 6 W Greensboro vs Rutgers/Pitt, Kansas St

So looking at it, if Marquette is the #8 overall seed, they would be going to the East given the other 3 2's are UCLA, Arizona, and Texas. That makes it where UConn even if they are a 4 seed can not go to the East and MSG.

Relevant. It's like getting the right answer on a math problem after doing all the wrong work along the way.

so they posted the final scores on things:
avg bracketologist scores last 5 years:
2018 337.8
2019 341.9
2021 346.4
2022 347.0
2023 356.5

the overall bracket matrix last 5 years:
2018 347
2019 361
2021 366
2022 370
2023 379

amazing how much better they've gotten now than 5 years ago. Or maybe how the committee has gotten more predictable these last 5 years.
