‘22-‘23 Non-Big East games of interest

Last night Gonzaga and Tennessee played an exhibition game that was available on PPV to raise funds for charity. Zags got their doors blown off in the second half and the Vols won 99-80. I know it doesn’t actually count, but still a bit surprising.

“See…Gonzaga stinks! Just another reason the BE will pass them by in favor of Dayton. I have insider knowledge that it is happening starting in 2019…I mean 2020…err 2021…meant 2022…definitely start of 2023. Book it!” —- Cheech

Ha! Well done.

I enjoyed it when he went with the idea of Val Ackerman “coaching Dayton up” or something to that effect, in order to get them ready to join the BE.

Perfectly said regarding the Dayton troll.

Also, Dayton lost to WVU in their secret scrimmage by 12. Not saying that means much, if anything, but they need to have a big year for BE consideration I'd think.

of course like Jeff Goodman said- so tough to tell with these secret scrimmages. Some coaches play everyone, some play their regular rotation. It's not necessarily a apples to apples situation if you will.

I agree, but I'll just put it this way: these results don't increase optimism for Big East expansion candidates. They very well could mean nothing, but if the results were flipped it would make Gonzaga look at least slightly more like a national title contender and Dayton like a Top 25 team. Maybe the results mean absolutely nothing, but I'm sure the teams/fans would still rather the results were reversed.

Also, the main thing here is we still have a week until anything matters. By November 7 these results will be totally forgotten.

A few P5 buy game losses by Oklahoma, USC, Cal and Florida State. #14 TCU beat ArkPB by 1. Hopefully the Big East can avoid these.

That was not a smart idea by Pittsburgh to part ways with Jamie Dixon. He has taken a worthless TCU program and now has them where they are ranked nationally.

Meanwhile Pitt finished 13th of 15 teams in the ACC last year.
