Big East Media Day

This event hasn't generated any excited anticipation here. I mean it is tomorrow, right?

Can't wait to see the preseason All BE teams. Due to the abundance of experienced STAR power in this league, there will be plenty of "chips for shoulders" to go around!

I think there could be a slight chance Gillespie doesn't get the preseason POY nod. Champagnie is right there. Does Big Nate finally get 1st team recognition?

May the passing out of Chips for shoulders begin.....may as well hand Justin Moore TWO CHIPS (1 for each shoulder)! Light years better than Cole (strange choice Gumby). Colby Jones will gladly accept a chip (D Harris not close) and Nze is certainty in the front of the line for one! ZFree gets a honorary chip because there is zero chance 2 Xavier guys make 1st team.

Rhoden 1st team? You must be thinking they will award him heavily with mere potential. I agree Samuel has hit his preseason ceiling but things could easily change come March.

Circumstances dictate roster needs will make Nembard a fine choice for FOY, but Mohammed is a absolute stud and will grab the preseason accolades.

He is just outside the preseason accolades, but my dark horse is Dwon Odom come the March awards!

I haven't seen the polling and all-conference teams if anyone has them.

Gumby, you were correct on Rhoden and Cole. Very surprised that your 1st teamer Thompson got the shaft. Shocked that X did get 2!

Yeah I don't have a big problem with the selections. I'm a big fan of Free's and Scruggs is Scruggs. Pressure is surely on Mr. Steele though with 2 first teamers on the roster. Put up, or go have a long vacation with that smoke show wife, Travis.

The team that could be wildly overrated or really, really good (perhaps even good enough to win the league) is UConn. Last year UConn was 0-4 vs teams above them in the standings, 3-3 vs. the team right below them in the standings, and 9-0 vs. the bottom 4 teams in the league. And then they lose one of the only guys who proved he could score consistently. They are going to win a lot of games ugly I think. They should be able to defend really well. But who's putting the ball in the hoop? My guess is Sanogo and Cole, maybe a bit of Polley and Martin(?). But they will be tested much more consistently than in last year's abbreviated season.
